Why, hello there my favourite internet-consumers; I hope life’s treating you well. Today, we’re going to be setting some goals. Hey, bumbling along aimlessly for the first two months of the year is fine if you pick yourself up again!
Someone agree with me please…
I don’t know if any of you remember my post on hitting 1,000 followers . . . well, it feels like no time at all has passed since I was celebrating that milestone and now we’re super close to 2,000 followers! How insane is that?
By the way, I haven’t forgotten about the giveaway; I’ve just been insanely busy the past few months. That said, I have been collecting a few things and I’m thinking after March’s payday I’ll buy the last few items and run the giveaway in early April. It would be a pretty cool way to celebrate Spring, right? What am I even saying, free shit is cool at any time of the year.
Moving onto today, though. I don’t know if you guys have realised, but the last few months I’ve been somewhat aimless in my blog content. Again, this is literally just because my off-screen life has been demanding attention.
Real life is so inconvenient. Jesus, mum, couldn’t you have birthed me into the Matrix?
Yep, fine, I know what you’re thinking – and I was going to write in a “who says she didn’t?” comment after that, I really was. But, look guys, I just really don’t have the fucking time for an existential crisis to derail my goal-setting post.
Anyways, while the blog has still been growing and I’ve still been enjoying creating content, I haven’t been working towards anything. I haven’t been tracking goals, or making plans and . . . well, kids, you know that I’m a Grade A evil plotter. I feel somewhat aimless without my schemes, you know?
So I sat my ass down and set some goals. Let’s do this.
The format I used for tracking the first six months of my blog – setting goals for three months; tracking those and re-setting them three months later – worked really well for me, so I’ve recreated it here. And it’s rather convenient too as I’m starting to track these in April, which will be the second quarter of the year (an entirely terrifying concept, right?).
If you’re thinking “gosh, Mia, you’re so lazy – putting it off until April is total procrastination” I see your criticism and I raise you an “I’m starting a new job, continuing my current job and aiming to keep creating posts once every two days“.
Look at my March calendar, guys; your girl is going to be busy. So while I’m still going to be active, I think being active is going to be enough of a challenge without trying to get all fancy with it.
Anyways, onto the actual goals.
The biggest changes I’m making in the next quarter is the focus on social media. Previously, I’ve just kind of left my socials to do their own thing . . . mainly because I hate them. Aside from Pinterest, which doesn’t really count, I’m not a social media person. Well, now’s the time to sell my morals!
However, if you do remember my initial goals, I do want to continue focusing on SEO. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is where I’d ideally like most of my views to come from, so I’ve set myself some new SEO goals to increase my rankings. Mainly, I need to start keyword researching, actually analysing my Search Console and producing some SEO content (ie . . . not this.).
For each month, I have individual stats goals that I’d like to hit. I didn’t make these too unachievable (hopefully not, anyway), but they show a steady growth rate. It’s kind of crazy to think that these kind of stats are genuinely possible for my little blog – I’ve only had it since last July.
My last goals are content related as I’m always trying to make better content for all you brilliant humans to enjoy!
One of my massive aims is to actually do some collabs! I’ve got one planned with Priya (sorry for taking so long on that, lovely girl, I’m waiting for the weather this side of the world to stop fucking snowing so I can get the OOTDs) and I’d love to do some more. And, in case that was too subtle, hit me up if you’d like to do a collab post.
Okay, so now that we’ve gotten to the end of this post . . . I’ve got to admit that I have no idea what the point of it even was. How do I end it? With an “I hope you found this useful”? How could you have found this useful? I hope you somewhat enjoyed it? Maybe you liked the bullet journal spread? Maybe you were inspired to set some of your own blog goals? Let me know your thoughts down below.
And put me out of my misery
