DIY: Painted Plant Pot Range ft. YesMissy

by Mia M.

Hello, beautiful people and welcome back to my blog! I hope you’re all having a wonderful day – and, if you aren’t, have no fear because I’m about to brighten it!

How? Well, because Eileen and I are going to be sharing some fun ways to DIY your plant pots. Crafts and plants? What a winning combination! This post was actually supposed to be up yesterday (sorry, Eileen!) and for some reason WordPress decided to skip my schedule  . . . but still, I suppose this will will work as some pre-weekend inspiration!

Now, if you haven’t heard of Eileen from Yes Missy, I am excited to be the one to change that! While I love blogs of all shapes and sizes, Eileen’s is a firm favourite of mine because of the professionalism. You can literally see all the hard work that goes into taking all the stunning photos and making all the sleek graphics. Every post of Eileen’s is so polished and high quality that I:

  1. Firmly enjoy reading it! And
  2. Am always inspired to try stepping up my photography game! Does that happen? No – but do I want to? Yes!

So for today’s collaboration, Eileen will be sharing a DIY macrame plant holder . . . and I will be sharing some fun plant pot painting ideas.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Acrylic Pour Paints

Plant Pots

And that’s it! Now, if there’s a niggle of recognition in your brain, it may be because I’ve shared this method with you all before! But in my pot-painting adventures since, I have tried a few new things – and I think they’ve turned out pretty cute!

I really wanted to do some alcohol ink painting for this collab, but Melbourne’s post service has had a mental breakdown and things that were meant to arrive two weeks ago . . . well, I still don’t know where they are. Such is life!

HOW TO MAKE:

I would love if you checked this tutorial out in video format and subscribed to me over on Youtube too!

And these are my finished pots! I experimented with a fully-covered coat and having an overlayed dripping effect – and I think they turned out quite cool! Which one’s your favourite?

(Also, that Ficus Ruby is new and her leaves are so beautiful. I’ve actually gone on a bit of a “pink houseplant” ride . . . I’ll share a tour/haul with you soon, if you like!)

Alright, lovers, that’s a wrap for now! I hope you enjoyed my latest adventures in painting plant pots – would you give this a try yourselves? Which was your favourite? Let me know your thoughts down below!

Peace,
