DIY Wish Book/Manifestation Book/Spell Book

Hey, you gorgeous souls – have I ever told that I’m about 68% sure that our family is descended from some kind of witches?

I’ve touched on it very lightly in my Hamilton West End Review, but my mother has a touch of magic in her, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind. She’s almost unbelievably lucky, she can quite literally manifest things that she wants – and she has some form of psychic ability. I’m not even joking, she has dreams of water and then people we know find out that they’re pregnant. This has happened enough times for us to find a link.

However, while I don’t necessarily think I’ve got as much of it as my mother, I definitely think I have that I have some of her magic in me. Case in point? Manifestations. You guys might remember my post about manifestations and how to use them to get everything you want out of life, but I didn’t end up posting about the aftermath.

And, my friends, there was an aftermath.

If you remember my exact wording, I manifested “fun, well paid blogging opportunities“. I kid you not, what email dropped into my inbox quite literally two days later? Take a look for yourself.

I applied for this platform that connects writers with companies literally months ago. It was a one-off, might-as-well, didn’t-think-anything-would-come-of-it application that I completely forgot about . . . and a few days after I sat down to do manifestations, this email dropped into my inbox.

Did I get the role? Probably not, but it doesn’t really matter.

Getting this email made me actually look into freelance writing. Which I hadn’t even considered. (My application to the above site was a one off “might as well” as I browsed content marketing jobs on Indeed one night.) As I mentioned in my post about manifestations, I don’t expect them to be hand-wrapped packages with what I’ve asked for dropped on my doorstep – sometimes they’re just guidance. Sometimes it’s like someone dropping a map in your lap and saying “hey, why not try going this way?”.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Mia, this is great for you and all . . . but what does this have to do with a DIY?”. Well, my friends, today we are creating our very own DIY spell book/manifestation book. That’s whole intro was just me sharing the why – and why I seriously think you should create one of your own!

(Oh – we’re also creating this DIY because Killstar didn’t actually refund me, they sent me a gift voucher for the amount I spent in the haul that I ended up returning, so I had to buy this spell book and a cauldron mug. Isn’t it beautiful, though?)

Before we get into this, stop and read Brooke’s post on DIY Wish Books. (It’s, of course, linked.) I remember reading this back in March and thinking “how beautiful, I absolutely need to create one of these”, so this post is literally just my version of her DIY. Check out the original, it’s absolutely beautiful and Brooke is the aesthetic queen, so I know you guys will fall in love.

You Will Need

  • Supplies for making your spell book pretty. Honestly, this part is up to you! I like to use stickers, pens, washi tape and Pinterest print-outs . . . but it’s your book, so use whatever things you want! (You need a journal though.)
  • A book to use as a base. If you’re going full witch-power, I do actually really recommend Killstar’s journals. They’re unbelievably cute and . . . the vibes!
If you’re looking for the journal I’m using, it’s linked right here!
  • Some concentration and good vibes!

What You Need To Do

Much like with manifestations, it’s about putting your intentions onto the page. Give each page a purpose – a spell, if you will – and make sure whatever you’re putting onto the page represents that. This is a completely unique process, kids, just do what feels best to you! For me, I like to create collages with images to represent what I want and write a few words and sentences down. It’s more about focusing my energy and thinking about what I want as I put things on the page, instead of what is actually on the page.

Want to take a look at my spellbook? Well, it would cruel to deny you!

And that, my beautiful friends, is my spellbook . . . done! I really hope you enjoyed this (I most definitely enjoyed creating it.) – make sure that you check out Brooke’s original Wish Book DIY; I literally just followed her steps and hers is absolutely stunning, as well as her blog just being one of my favourites.

Did you guys like my spellbook? Have you ever created anything like it yourselves? Would you give it a go? And can we please talk about how freaking cute my Killstar notebook is? Let me know your thoughts down below!

    1. Ooo my little witchy bohemian indy spiritual self is clawing to get out right now, how BEAUTIFUL. I wish I was this physically creative, I’ve never been artsy like that! I’ve been looking into it a lot lately (spells and stuff, mostly inspired by Harmony Nice) and this is the coolest!! xx

    2. LOVE this so much! I love manifestations and I believe that negative energy begets negative energy and positive energy begets positive energy. We have the power to change the direction of our lives both mentally and physically. Whoa this is deep. Anywho another beautifully done DIY sweets! <3

    3. I love this! What do you use the spell book for? Like actual spells (lol) or just manifestations and inspiration?
I have one myself just for manifesting but it’s not nearly as amazing looking as yours!!! Its just a regular journal. I dont trust myself in putting cool artsy stuff on it either ahh but yours looks so amazing I’m gonna have to get the washi tape you have, it’s literally so dang beautiful โ˜บ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ thanks for sharing your book ๐Ÿ‘

    4. I love your spell book so much! I love how you made the best out of a ‘bad’ situation – the company definitely should have refunded you though. xx

    5. I’ve started using the law of attraction a few weeks ago and already things are looking up for me. it’s crazy how we can manifest these things into our life. I’ve been feeling quite ‘lucky’ too, and I’ve gotten so much into that kind of thing. Card readings and things like that. You should definitely post more blogs like this! So interesting!

    6. Mia you are so sweet for all the little shoutouts and nice comments. It is a true honor to be mentioned on your blog. Your spellbook turned out beautifully. Also, your mom sounds like an amazing and interesting person. Now I know where you got your lovely style and vibes from ๐Ÿ˜‰

      1. Aww, Brooke you’re so welcome – I really did love that post, I’ve had it bookmarked for months! ๐Ÿ™‚ And thank you lovely! She most definitely is a brilliant woman ๐Ÿ™‚ x

    7. I loved this post so much ๐Ÿ˜ Your spell book is so beautiful! I also want to create this once. I heard also of making a vision board. It’s also about manifesting dreams โœจ

    8. This post left me feeling so inspired. Also, I can definitely relate to your mother and how you said she has a lucky streak or a touch of magic in her. I’ve only now started realizing that I must have a lucky star or some manifestation gift that was given to me, because when I wish things into my life they become reality.

It’s definitely interesting that your mom has certain dreams and then things just happen. That happens to me too all. the. time! I never knew there were other people out there like that. I swear I make predictions sometimes and then they happen. It’s kind of scary how accurate I can be, but I try to look at it in a positive way. Anyway, I really loved this post. You are so creative and your spell book is gorgeous. I’ll have to try to make my own! โœจ

      1. Thank you lovely ๐Ÿ™‚ And girllll freaking use that shit! Manifest up all the good things ๐Ÿ™‚

And omg that’s so bizarre – have you ever looked into it more? Thankfully, she never predicts bad things because THAT would be freaking terrifying. Ooooh I hope you do make one, I’d love to see your take on it x
