Comfy Loungewear Outfit Ideas & A Lookbook

Hello, my blogging family! How’s life treating ya today? All good? Great.

So I realised that I haven’t actually updated you on what’s going on in my life/what I’m doing at the moment . . . which I want to do because I am so damn happy. For the first time in like two years, I’m doing nothing.

Blissful, relaxing, uninterrupted sweet fuck all. And it is amazing.

Okay, so not quite nothing. I’m working on my blog, setting up an online store for my best friend and I to earn money for travelling in summer and sorting out my portfolio and university application. Basically, I’m taking January off to really plan out and organise what I want to do in 2018 and get a head-start on most of the work that needs doing. (Things like my blog branding, sorting out an Instagram theme, drafting Youtube content and actually learning to edit bloody videos. On top of that, I’m trying to get at least one design project done a day.) Mainly, I’m taking January off to work on my university application.

I’m really lucky in that the business I left my old job for is a family friend (#HailNepotism) who really wants to work with me and is allowing me to take that time off before starting, so I have a job lined up for when reality (aka bills and saving goals) come a-knocking.

However, what this life update was really for is to show off the fact that I get to spend my days lounging around in the comfiest clothes I own.

There are no skinny jeans, no stiff trousers, no inappropriately-thin-for-winter-but-office-mandatory shirts. It has been a revolving door of hoodies and leggings . . . and I have been loving it. In fact, I have been loving it so much that, on the one day out of the next coming weeks that I didn’t have a post planned out for, I wanted to create me a comfy clothes lookbook and share some of my favourite outfits of the past week with you.

Seriously, though, it’s been so nice to take some time to just relax and unwind. I also really like the fact that, although I have had the time off to lay about, I’ve been really productive. Having the luxury of getting up at 12 means waking up happy and content (and working ’til 3am guilt free, sister!) and in the mood to work. Before bed every night, I’ve been tidying my room because I have the time to. I wake up and make myself a nice healthy breakfast, I spend my time productively and I feel like it’s mine. It’s so weird to say that, but I suppose I always feel like my time belongs to someone else, whether that’s work or other commitments.

Anyways, this was just a quick little post. And, hey, maybe even a peek into an (incomplete) page of my portfolio . . .

It’s by no means finished, but something is always better than nothing! What did you guys think of the video? Did you have a favourite outfit? I think mine had to be the first one – although I am loving my new teddy coat. Let me know your thoughts below!

Peace,

      1. Hmmm… I would sponsor you to pinyatta anything in your path. In fact I am getting this vision that parlour game where you whack moles back in the holes.
Maybe you should have a button for a bat… I mean your hair shits all over the US and North Korea

    Gorgeous x

    DAMN GIRL these outfits are

I liked what you said/wrote about regarding working from home – it is so fucking hard to get anything done. I always get ready and will put make-up on just to make me feel like I put the effort in, so I might as well do it. I had to write an extremely long paper last year in which I had to invest MONTHS of research and writing – it was tough as hell. What got me through it was “dressing up” in (compfy) business clothes because for some reason I just felt much more productive in them as the day progressed.

Lovely blog post! Love the asthetics of your videos! xxx

    1. crystalsandcurls – I'm going through a bit of an existential crisis right now, I'll tell you about myself when I figure out if I'm real or not.

THANK YOU SO MUCH LOVELY <3

Ugh, honestly… I love it, but the struggle to be consistently productive is more than I'd comfortably admit to be honest. That's actually a really good idea! Plus, it means all those business clothes are actually getting their wear too, which is always good 😉 I hope the paper went really well 😀

And thank you lovely 🙂 xxx

  3. oxria – Hello! I’m a 17 year old girl who likes to share experiences and travel memories with people. On my blog you’ll find a bunch of things: from fashion posts, hauls and travel diaries to random photos of my cats! (b ᵔ▽ᵔ)b I hope you like it!

I love the mini lookbook! What do you edit your videos with? 😀

Thank you lovely! And I use Wondershare Filmora, but it’s such a limited software I don’t entirely recommend it….it’s easy to learn and cheap, though, so there’s that 🙂 x

  4. H.A.Ivy – I mean, to be frank with you do people actually read these? Undecided. I do know it's an excellent thing to write when you're trying to procrastinate from literally anything else. Technically I'm supposed to write on these for another obligation but you know what-we'll procrastinate on that one too. Mainly because people will be reading and judging that one. Though if you've gotten this far it's probably because you're genuinely hoping to find information about me, and to put it simply, there's not much to tell. I'm a fairly average person who prefers to have panic attacks about small things, and then when something's big I say "ah screw it" and move on with my life because who has time to dwell, not me that's who. Not with college and other stressful life requirements like not procrastinating on things. But in all seriousness, if you have made it this far, kudos to you. I'm H.A.Ivy, or Ivy, or Hazi or random girl that should shut up. I'm old (there's still a "teen" slapped after my age number so I'll let you figure it out), I enjoy writing, playing video games, and annoying my family. And of course, my ultimate goal is to take over the world, after I finish whatever this is.

Nice blog shop, those items are really ginchy!

  8. Arundhati Basu – New Jersey, US – The great affair in my life is to travel. I count myself immensely fortunate that my partner shares this passion. We are a team that likes to spend time planning and plotting out places to go. Destination check, flights check, accommodation check, cheesy grins check. Off we go.

That sounds like pure, unadulterated bliss and it comes through in your writing and video. The sheer joy of waking up at your own will…it is a good thing to take breaks from work from time to time and organise your life the way you want it to be. Have fun my darling girl! And keep up with the beautiful jewellery designing (love the white turquoise pieces) and the peppy, funny videos. xx

Thank you so much lovely! You flatter me 😉 And oh my god, the freedom is unbeatable – I feel like a new, 1000x happier human. I’ve got so much done in terms of organising, so it’s definitely been the perfect start to the year 😀 xx

  9. I love all of the outfits in the video. I know I commented on another post of yours and mentioned how much I love your style. It’s always so cozy, but still fashionable.

  10. THE PINK FLUFFY JUMPER!! Forever in love with that thing. I’m also a lil bit inspired to maybe slow down a bit myself and actually take some time to finally accomplish and finish things I set out to, maybe January could be the same for me! And admittedly…getting out of my pyjamas would be a great start…girl we need to collab soon x

  11. I live for anything oversized when I’m spending my time at home. Love the lookbook! So happy that you’re happy and enjoying your month off

  13. Lis – I write. I eat. One of the two is done a bit too much.

Oooo guuurl these outfits!! It’s great you’re taking time for yourself, it’s so easy to get caught up in the rat race and do things that don’t fulfil us just so we stay busy…I’m taking January off too to get my mind right, feels weird af because all I’m used to doing is working but I think it’ll be good for me in the long run…all the best bub <3

  14. K.M. Sutton – I am a country girl living on the Upper East Side of the concrete jungle. My friends call me a modern day Renaissance woman. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything, from being a yoga instructor to holistic chef, to skating coach, to glorified nanny, to student. I am a self admitted coffee junkie. A wannabe mermaid. A wanderluster who dreams of other countries. A fashionista who really does need a bigger bank account. But most important of all, I dream of living in a bungalow by the ocean and being a published writer (in style of course) sipping coffee in the morning and a martini in the evening. I love to meet my readers, so feel free to comment or email me. Happy reading!

I love those days where you don’t have to wear make-up and better yet crappy clothes! Though girl even in your relaxed lounged no work wardrobe, you still look gorgeous and stylish! Also I love the concept of the Blog shop. Anything to finance travel is a win in my book! <3
