Hello, my blogging family! How’s life treating ya today? All good? Great.
So I realised that I haven’t actually updated you on what’s going on in my life/what I’m doing at the moment . . . which I want to do because I am so damn happy. For the first time in like two years, I’m doing nothing.
Blissful, relaxing, uninterrupted sweet fuck all. And it is amazing.
Okay, so not quite nothing. I’m working on my blog, setting up an online store for my best friend and I to earn money for travelling in summer and sorting out my portfolio and university application. Basically, I’m taking January off to really plan out and organise what I want to do in 2018 and get a head-start on most of the work that needs doing. (Things like my blog branding, sorting out an Instagram theme, drafting Youtube content and actually learning to edit bloody videos. On top of that, I’m trying to get at least one design project done a day.) Mainly, I’m taking January off to work on my university application.
I’m really lucky in that the business I left my old job for is a family friend (#HailNepotism) who really wants to work with me and is allowing me to take that time off before starting, so I have a job lined up for when reality (aka bills and saving goals) come a-knocking.
However, what this life update was really for is to show off the fact that I get to spend my days lounging around in the comfiest clothes I own.
There are no skinny jeans, no stiff trousers, no inappropriately-thin-for-winter-but-office-mandatory shirts. It has been a revolving door of hoodies and leggings . . . and I have been loving it. In fact, I have been loving it so much that, on the one day out of the next coming weeks that I didn’t have a post planned out for, I wanted to create me a comfy clothes lookbook and share some of my favourite outfits of the past week with you.
Seriously, though, it’s been so nice to take some time to just relax and unwind. I also really like the fact that, although I have had the time off to lay about, I’ve been really productive. Having the luxury of getting up at 12 means waking up happy and content (and working ’til 3am guilt free, sister!) and in the mood to work. Before bed every night, I’ve been tidying my room because I have the time to. I wake up and make myself a nice healthy breakfast, I spend my time productively and I feel like it’s mine. It’s so weird to say that, but I suppose I always feel like my time belongs to someone else, whether that’s work or other commitments.
Anyways, this was just a quick little post. And, hey, maybe even a peek into an (incomplete) page of my portfolio . . .
It’s by no means finished, but something is always better than nothing! What did you guys think of the video? Did you have a favourite outfit? I think mine had to be the first one – although I am loving my new teddy coat. Let me know your thoughts below!
Peace,
