Hello, my internet friends – the time has come for us to catch yet another flight. If you’ve been following me for a while, you may remember my 17 Airport Outfit Ideas post. Well, consider this the 2019 version.
First of all, let me just say a big thank you to our Lord and saviour, budget airline Tigerair. You get a bad rap over here in Australia, but you’re cheap, you’ve never delayed any of my flights and you allowed me to get the fuck out of Brisbane. Twice. For that, I am eternally grateful.
As you can probably guess by this point, I am no longer in Brisbane – I’ve actually moved back to my home-away-from-home Melbourne! Am I ridiculously excited? You bet your bottom dollar. I’m back to my boyfriend, my friends, all the fun bars and places I love. It’s great, your girl’s excited. (Also, Priya’s here and that’s a real selling point.)
Anyways, as I did in fact promise you an airport outfit, here’s what I wore to make my much anticipated return. (Look, I’ve been living in Melbourne long enough that the hipster is really starting to make its way to my wardrobe – let me live.)
I know some of you (namely my British followers) may be looking with this outfit with confusion. After all, it’s June – summertime! Yeah, no, not in Australia. Whoever made the phrase “chasing the sun” obviously did not live in Melbourne. I had to buy a massive coat (no, not jacket, not a hoodie; a full on coat) and I was still freezing when I went to visit a few weeks ago.
So let’s talk about this baby. If you guys are familiar with my go-to winter styles, you’ll already know how much I adore faux fur. It’s looks luxurious, it feels like you’re being hugged by a duvet and it pairs well with pretty much anything. All big wins in my book.
Now, I confess, I wasn’t actually on the hunt for this jacket. Like I mentioned a minute ago, I’ve just bought a bloody massive winter coat – I’d like to think that one would be enough in Australia, despite all evidence to the contrary. However, when my friend Raven and I went shopping, it just jumped out at me. Then, as if I wasn’t convinced enough, when I got the register it turns out it was on a 50% off sale!
(I mean, yes, you could make the argument that I was already going to buy it regardless. But I like to think of it as a sign.) Anyways, it’s super cute and I’m pretty much living in it. If you’d like to get the look, here’s an online alternative!
Faux Fur Cropped Jacket – Pretty Little Thing – £35
Faux Fur Cropped Jacket – Pretty Little Thing – $62
So, yes: cosy jackets are once again a win. Let’s talk about the next bad boy in this outfit’s lineup: the tee.
I think at this point we’re all well aware of how much I adore a good graphic tee. There’s one for every mood and every style you could possibly want to dress for – plus, they’re cute. (If you love graphic tees as much as I do, make sure you haven’t missed my post on the 8 best online stores for graphic tees.)
This Wrangler t-shirt is apparently not available online anywhere, so here’s an alternative.
Skeleton Tee – Urban Outfitters – $34/$26
We also have some leather look trousers to finish the look because there just wasn’t enough grunge already. These are actually from H&M and they were super cheap, but they fit almost obscenely well and are crazy comfortable. Which we is all we really want.
Black Coated Jeans – H&M – £15.99
Well, my loves, I feel like that’s probably the natural conclusion to this post. If you do enjoy my airport outfit inspiration, feel free to have a watch of my 17 airport outfit ideas video and weep at how preciously tanned I once was.
