RECIPE: Making Leftover Easter Chocolate Healthy ft. JustHannahHere

Oh, sweet long-Easter-weekend, how I already miss you.

Hello, internet addicts – how’s life treating you today? That’s good to hear. Oh, me? Well, I’m suffering a wee bit of an Easter hangover (what do you mean I don’t get massive chocolate eggs every day? How is that fair?), but I’m otherwise fine. I have curly hair, how could I complain?

Today is a special day. I mean, it’s day two of my collab-month, so there’s that, sure. However, the real reason today is special is because . . . we’re getting a whole post dedicated to chocolate. Rich, sweet, delicious chocolate. Chocolate is always there for you; chocolate doesn’t care that your hair’s a mess or that your skin is playing up – chocolate loves you for you.

That said, Easter can leave anyone with a bit too much chocolate on their hands.

Enter Hannah and I; we’re here to help.

As most of you will be familiar, throughout April I am posting nothing but collaboration posts – and today I am collaborating with the lovely JustHannahHere. Hannah runs a super cute lifestyle blog and talks about travel, fashion, mental health and loads of other great subjects. My point? Her blog’s worth a follow.

Anyways, the topic of our posts: some ways to use up the last of your easter chocolate without bingeing on it all come Sunday morning. Hannah’s sharing a super delicious recipe with you over on her blog . . . and I’m sharing a super easy one. Because, over in this corner of the web, we are #LazyAF.

Plus, I’ve managed to do the impossible. My dear sweet internet friends . . . I have made chocolate healthy.

Well – ish.

Let’s do this!

1. Get You Some Strawberries

You see where this is going, right?

2. Melt Some Nutella and Chocolate Together

You can just use your easter eggs, sure, but I love the added nuttiness of Nutella.

3. Once melted, cover strawberries in chocolate (and optional edible glitter)

Remember to use foil for this bit to avoid mess.

4. Leave to set, then enjoy!

(Or, as it goes in my house, leave to set and then watch your entire family steal them before you can have one.)

See . . . I made chocolate into fruit salad. And they praise God for this “let there be life” thing!

Well, as there wasn’t much of . . . uh, anything in this “recipe”, I guess we’ll have to end it here. I almost feel like I’m cheating; this post is so short! Don’t forget to check out Hannah’s recipe for more chocolately goodness.

In case you missed my “What’s Coming Up In Spring!” post, this is the first of an entire month of collab posts! (Exciting stuff, right?) Make sure you’re checking in regularly to discover some awesome new content creators – and some awesome new content. Remember, if you want to get involved, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email at: crystalsandcurls@mail.com.

Did you guys have a good easter? Have you eaten all your eggs yet? Even if you don’t celebrate (which we actually don’t, we just like the excuse to eat. We’re godless hedonists.), I hope you enjoyed the long weekend! Are you a fan of chocolate strawberries? Would you try this out? Let me know your thoughts down below!

Peace,

I would love to know!! Btw, I love strawberries and chocolate, but I haven’t tasted them together!? But I’m sure I’d love it! I hope you had a great Easter!!

Aww that’s fine, don’t you worry 🙂 And I don’t actually celebrate either, as we aren’t religious, but we like the fun of making a nice meal and giving each other chocolate eggs! <3

Such a simple yet yummy recipe. I love making chocolate coated fruit for parties! It’s so quick to make and I haven’t met anyone yet who didn’t like it! I love sprinkling chopped nuts on top of the chocolate to give it an extra twist! xx

Honestly, simple is all I can make in the kitchen xD And that sounds like a brilliant idea…. and nuts are healthy so it’s like extra healthiness… I feel a salad coming on xx

  3. Hannah – Hello there! My name is Hannah and I am a 22 year old lifestyle blogger who loves travelling, coffee and social media. Welcome to my corner of the Internet.

Thanks for collabing with me! I love the mixture of Nutella and chocolate – it adds a nutty bite to the chocolate strawberries. And ofc the glitter is pretty fancy too. xx

  4. What a great idea. Let me just say, that you ain’t the only one with Easter hangover… I can’t even describe to you how much I love the way that you write. Like I can’t read a single one of your blog posts, without either laughing out loud all alone in my room, or just smiling as if I got paid for it. Thank you for having a blog! And being who you are! And doing what you do! (Okay I’m gonna stop myself here… haha) Hugs from Karen W. xx

Oh boy, I have eaten WAY too much Easter candy this week! Those chocolate covered strawberries look delicious.

  6. K.M. Sutton – I am a country girl living on the Upper East Side of the concrete jungle. My friends call me a modern day Renaissance woman. I have dabbled in a little bit of everything, from being a yoga instructor to holistic chef, to skating coach, to glorified nanny, to student. I am a self admitted coffee junkie. A wannabe mermaid. A wanderluster who dreams of other countries. A fashionista who really does need a bigger bank account. But most important of all, I dream of living in a bungalow by the ocean and being a published writer (in style of course) sipping coffee in the morning and a martini in the evening. I love to meet my readers, so feel free to comment or email me. Happy reading!

Easter Candy is the BEST candy. it even (haters gonna hate) trumps Halloween candy. Yup I said it! I LOVEd how you converted the Easter Chocolate though. Chocolate covered Strawberries are the BEST thing ever! <3

Girl YES YES YES! Halloween candy is nice, but it’s not dedicated to chocolate so Easter is far superior! And thanks lovely! <3

  8. Arundhati Basu – New Jersey, US – The great affair in my life is to travel. I count myself immensely fortunate that my partner shares this passion. We are a team that likes to spend time planning and plotting out places to go. Destination check, flights check, accommodation check, cheesy grins check. Off we go.

Strange why I have not indulged so, strawberries and dark chocolate would be lip-smacking together. Your family is after my heart for not leaving chocolate bunnies hanging around, unclaimed. xx

That is very true – you should definitely make some, to make up for lost time 😉 and I know! I was sad….but also quite proud of them. Who just passes up on chocolate, after all? xx
